What usually happens?
- This service has a relaxed feel, meeting @ 11am Sunday.
- We worship in ways that reflects how we live our lives.
- We have a music group who lead singing. We sing about 5 songs (some a couple of times through).
- We use multimedia (ie powerpoint, film clips) to help explain things.
- We sometimes ask people to discuss a question – the questions are simply seeking to begin a conversation rather than being an in-depth discussion. (You don't have to join in but it can be fun!)
- We vary the way we pray together. Sometimes we have someone who leads prayers from the front; other times there may be tables around the room with images or objects on to stimulate your own prayers.
We try and make use of good symbolism to help us understand more of God.
- We seek to provide a welcoming, safe environment with refreshment throughout.
- We believe the Holy Spirit brings support and change to our lives and we encourage people to receive prayer ministry. There is opportunity for this at the end of the service.
How should I behave?
Please be yourself! You are under no pressure to take part in anything that may feel is a bit different from a ‘traditional’ church. But don't judge us on just one event - come to two or three if you can as the content and feel of events can vary because of the way our services are planned.
What about me?
We want to give people the chance to ask questions about what they believe so that their faith can grow. We have found that Home Groups are really good for this. We see these home groups as one of the main ways we offer pastoral care to one another.
